RCC Malaysia

Independent has been contracted to write the system design and technical requirements for the new Aeronautical Search and Rescue Centers.

The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in Malaysia is planning to upgrade it’s Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) facilities in Malaysia. Independent have been contracted to write the system design and technical requirements for the new Aeronautical Search and Rescue Centers and all associated sub-centers.

ENAV S.p.A. Asia Pacific who is the main contractor in Malaysia for the new ATM center system have contracted Independent Consulting to support in writing the RCC specifications.

Kim Silander and Stig Lejon (head of services) are the lead consultants in the project and have over the past months done an operational and technical survey of the current SAR operations.

Currently work is ongoing for the value management, system design and technical/facility specifications with the objective to provide DCA a new modern SAR system including new communication, dispatching and information sharing features. This will enhance DCA’s capability to quickly respond to aeronautical incidents and coordinate SAR units.
